Why?? Because Oprah said so...

The first book that has been picked is "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski.
Being new to the eBook Club scene, I wanted to play it safe. So I went with Oprah's pick. As we evolve as a group, we can pick the book based on mutual consensus or let a person pick each time around. We'll see how that goes.

For those of you who might have read the book already, please do discuss the book with us. The window to read this book is Oct 6th thru December 6th. We can discuss the book in the weeks following and take it from there.

If the majority of the group has read the book, we will change the book, of course!

In the meantime, feel free to leave comments on where you are in the reading of the book and such. Let us avoid spoilers as far as possible.

Be nice!! The goal is to have fun as a group.

I am still trying to figure how we could tag each other along the way to encourage each other to finish the book. More on that later.

I bought the book Sunday (finally!)! After a day of doing all that is entailed in a day & topping it off with kick boxing (thanks Jamie!) I had enough energy to read about 4 pages of the book.
I don’t know if it was me or if it was the book, but I have no clue what I read!
I will try again today.

I'm looking forward to reading this; it's been on many recommended lists.

Thanks again, Radhika, for organizing this!

I have started the book, read past the first section about the dogs (which was a little odd to me) but now a little more interested when more story about the people.

This is a great book. I had bought it before you chose it, Radhika, so I've just finished it. If any of you know of someone who would like to borrow my copy, let me know!

Wow!! That is incredible.
A quick review would be awesome! Also, if you are selling Cliff's notes for the book, I am buying..
I had read roughly 20 pages so far.

I'm about half way through now and it's getting so fascinating that I really don't want to stop reading. I am continually surprised by the new elements and new voices appearing when you least expect them. You have to be on your toes!

Lost the book in Vegas!! Sniff!!

Slept on the plane ride to Vegas & lost the book on landing.

Does this mean I am not destined to read this book??
